A quick fix

Asher is starting to reach the age when Alexander started wearing holes into his clothes. A new pair of pj's are only $8+/- at Costco but I was looking at these pj's this morning thinking, "why in earth would I spend that money on new pj's when I bet I could fix these ones" I mean, the only thing wrong was the feet. So after we picked up Alexander from school it was off to the fabric store. I quickly found what I needed and left spending just over $2 and with more than enough fabric to fix multiple pairs of pj's. I couldn't wait until bedtime to do my project, especially since I wanted him to wear them tonight.

I could not be more happy with the result! I have been really down on myself with my sewing skills lately and this simple project really helped me remember that if I slow down, take my time, and don't try and take any shortcuts I can perform basic sewing tasks and be confident in my projects.

Garden time

I am so excited that it's garden time again! Each year my gardening skills grow and I get a more fruitful and fun garden. This is my third season in this garden and we are changing the basic structure of it. Right now it's sloped and I've found that is not good for water flow, so Josh is rebuilding the retaining wall so we can raise the front and level off the planting area. So in preparation of my updated space I'm getting my starts planted. I'm so excited!

So this year I'm planting basil cilantro parsley carrots tomatoes (cherry and steak) pumpkin bell peppers summer squash cucumbers onions broccoli green beans corn and butter nut squash. This will be the biggest garden I've ever attempted, I'm not even sure we have the space for all that!  Okay enough talk time to get my seeds planted.
