So Josh asked me the other day if I ever put anything on here about us. I said, "Why? Isn't everything about Alexander these days?!?!"
We have so many things in waiting right now. Josh is still looking for a part time job. He has been in contact with Google about an Internship this summer. (This means we might be moving to Washington for three months.) He has also submitted applications for Grad school to CMU in Pennsylvania and Georgia Tech in Georgia. So only God knows where we will be in three months and eight months. The other fun stuff is traveling. We might be doing some traveling this year. Alexander has several trips planed that will take him on an airplane three times by the end of the year. 1. We plan to accompany Josh to San Fransisco in March for his annual trip to Google. This will give him a chance to meet a lot of Josh's side of the family. 2. If we move to the east coast Alexander and I will fly over once Josh gets our stuff moved into our apartment. (Who wants to drive a cross the country with a 14 month old?) 3. We plan to visit Josh's younger brother and family in Japan in December. So those are the short details of this crazy year we are calling 2008! If you want more details, you know I love to talk, so just email me or post a comment.

7 months old
We are having so much fun these days. He is really getting into playing and laughing. The other night when Josh got home from work there was not a thing Josh did that did not make him laugh. As you can see in the picture he is a pretty happy boy (and no it did not take fifty picture to get him to smile!!)

First Swim Lesson
Alexander had his first swim lesson tonight. I guess you can't call it an actual "lesson" because all he did was let me hold him while he watched the other babies kick and splash. I am sure the more I take him the more fun he will have!!! If you are wondering why I am holding his arm in most of the pictures it is because we were hitting a ball back and forth with the other kids.

Growing up
So this last week has brought so many new things for Alexander. Pooping in the training toilet, twice!! Rolling all over the room. And last night, drum roll....he slept through the night!!! He went to sleep at 8 pm and he did not wake me up until 7 am. In my opinion he has just crossed the line from infant to baby. So many changes in so little time.

Funny Saturday
I am going to start this story by saying that we are not potty training Alexander. However, we have known since we brought him home from the hospital that he is very sensitive to body functions. We have been teaching him some sign language and one of them is the sign for toilet. We are convinced that he knows it because when we take off his diaper and give him the sign and say "potty" he goes!! But that is not what this story is about. Alexander also goes poop at the same time nearly every day. With a gift certificate we received for Christmas we bought him a potty chair. We thought we would get it because he pretty much only poops when he is sitting in his high chair and we figured why not give it a try. Well, this morning as I am feeding him breakfast he starts making his poop faces. I decided just to humor myself and go for it. I took him to the bathroom, sat him on his chair and before I could even give him the sign, he pooped in the potty training seat. As soon as he was done he wanted off the chair, but it was so funny to see him use the toilet like a big boy. We don't expect him to do this every time and I certainly don't want to mess him up for the future, but how funny is that. A six and a half month old pooping in the toilet. Fun times...
