Where to start?!? Life with two boys has been a TON of fun, okay maybe not at first, but definitely the last few months. Now that we have gotten into our grove and are living life more than just one day at a time, I thought it would be fun to get back into blogging. I love having a place to share my thoughts, but unlike Facebook, the people that read blogs do so because they intentionally went to a blog not just because it pops up on their news feed.
So the new direction. Just today I changed the name of my blog to "Nap Time Projects" I did this because any mom knows, nap time is precious. You make the most out of every minute your precious children are sleeping. Well just recently I have been doing all I can to maximize this time to the fullest. I am currently doing a bible study by Donna Partow called
Becoming the Woman God Wants Me to Be. One of the first things she has you do is make a daily routine. I LOVE routine and thrive in those type of environments, but I have not been so good at sticking to them since the arrival of our second child. So with pen in hand I sat down and laid out my day, if nothing else I wanted to stick to the portion of the schedule that run up until our oldest son came home from school. I am now on day 24 and let me tell you, it has been awesome! Even the days that Asher (our baby) doesn't take his usual two-hour morning nap, I am fitting in my quiet time and at least one chore. Routine just works for me!
Today I was able to take Alexander (our oldest) to school, on time I might add), feed Asher and myself breakfast, have play time with Asher before his nap, do my bible study, start a Read the bible in a year plan, get work done for my business (I'm a wedding planner) and play Hay Day with my friend Mary. All this before noon. Then once we had lunch, I started in on a project I have been wanting to do for a while, refinish some picture frames. I pulled them down and prepped while Asher was up, but when he went down for his second nap I painted up a storm! I won't bore you with all the other things I accomplished today but I will say that I got 6 more things done on my task list. I wanted to share all this because I wanted to encourage anyone who happens to read this. I encourage you that if you are feeling overwhelmed or that you have so much to get done that you just don't know where to start, sit down, take a deep breath and draw your focus back to where it matters. For me it is getting that quiet time to do my bible study and journal my thoughts for the day. Doing this starts my day out in a positive way and gets my focus pointed so that I can do the tasks that matter so that I can play around and to have time to do the fun things that really don't matter.
So here is a picture of the picture wall. Sorry the second shot is blurry, when you are holding a toddler, well, they wiggle a lot. I will post more of my up coming project and oh boy, I have a lot of them I want to do!!!!!
